Anatomy of an account tile

One tile tells you where you stand.

Every connected account is a single tile at the top of the screen. Hover any part of it - or its explanation - to see what it tracks.

Checking Account
$309,060.40BankUpdated about 5h
$348,063.28Hoops6

Click a tile to start working that account - its border turns blue so you always know which books you're balancing.

Account name & menu

Each connected account is its own tile - named, with a bank icon, a drag handle to reorder, and a menu for account settings.

Live bank balance

The top line is the balance pulled straight from your bank through a secure feed - the real number, no exports.

Hoops balance

The line directly below is your recorded balance in Hoops, stacked under the bank's so the two numbers you care about line up.

In-balance indicator

A green dot means the bank matches what Hoops expects after pending items. Red means there's a difference to chase down.

Unmatched count

The amber number on the Hoops line is how many bank transactions still need matching. When it hits zero, it turns into a green check.

Last synced

The timestamp shows how fresh the feed is. Refresh from bank pulls new transactions, or update the latest ledger entries from Hoops.

Smart matching

The software does the matching.

Matching is just confirming that a transaction at the bank is the same one in your books. Hoops finds the pairs - you confirm them.

Automatic matching

The moment your transactions load, Hoops pairs up entries with the same amount and a close date - doing most of the reconciliation for you.

Exact & Probable confidence

Matches are graded: Exact when the dates line up within 20 days, Probable when they're a little further apart - so you know what to trust at a glance.

Accept All Exact

Got a pile of obvious matches? Clear every Exact match at once with a single click, then work through whatever's left.

Deep Search

When one bank deposit is really several payments, Deep Search hunts through your ledger for the combination - up to ten entries - that adds up.

Combine & multi-match

Match one bank line to many ledger entries, or combine several bank transactions into one - principal and interest, split deposits, and more.

Match with Adjustment

When a bank fee makes the amounts differ by a few cents, match anyway and Hoops books the difference to the account you choose.

Three views

Always know what's left.

Three simple tabs separate what needs work from what's done and what's still in flight.

Where you work

Unmatched in Bank

Bank transactions that haven't been matched yet. This is your worklist - accept the suggestions, match the rest, and watch the count fall to zero.

Already done

Matched

Everything you've successfully reconciled. Review any pairing at a glance, and unmatch in one click if something needs a second look.

Still outstanding

Pending in Hoops

Entries in your books that haven't hit the bank yet - checks that haven't cleared, deposits in transit. Normal and expected; they'll match when they land.

Power tools

For the transactions that don't line up.

Real bank statements are messy - split deposits, bank fees, combined payments, the odd entry that never clears. Hoops gives you a precise tool for every one of them, so nothing forces you back to a spreadsheet.

Deep Search

Finds combinations of up to ten ledger entries that add up to a single bank transaction - the tricky split deposits sorted in seconds.

Create JE

A bank transaction with nothing in your books? Record the journal entry right from the row and it's matched automatically.

Match with Adjustment

Match a transaction whose amount is off by a fee or a few cents, and Hoops posts the adjusting entry for the difference.

Combine transactions

One ledger entry that hit the bank as two lines - principal and interest - combined and matched together.

Zero Out Pending

Clear pending entries that cancel each other to zero, like an error and its reversal, so your outstanding list stays clean.

Force Balance

A tiny unexplained difference that isn't worth chasing? Close it out to an expense account with a documented journal entry.

Secure by design

Built into Hoops

Reconciliation that lives with your books.

Tied to your ledger

Reconciliation reads and writes the same general ledger as the rest of Hoops - matches, journal entries, and adjustments all land in your books.

Always up to date

Pull the latest from the bank or refresh new ledger entries from Hoops in a click - the two stay in step without manual exports.

Every account, in one place

Checking, savings, and merchant accounts each get a tile and their own reconciliation, all from a single screen.

Books you can trust

When every account is in balance, your financial statements are built on numbers you've confirmed against the bank itself.

Close the books with confidence.

See Bank Reconciliation running on your own accounts - connected to the bank, matched against your ledger, and in balance.
